Welcome to the Wish I Would've Known podcast.
Speaker 2I'm Clint and I'm Amber, and we've been married for almost 20 years.
Speaker 1And in this 20 years we've gained a lot of wisdom and found ourselves in the middle of some pretty crazy stories.
Speaker 2And now we want to share those things with you.
Speaker 1So here's some stuff that we wish we would've known. Hey everybody, welcome to another episode of Wish I Would've Known.
Speaker 2Hey everyone.
Speaker 1Really excited that you're here.
Speaker 2We are excited that you're here.
Speaker 1Wherever you are.
Speaker 2Yeah, wherever you're here on this planet. Yes, because if you're listening to this, surely you're on this planet.
Speaker 1What if they're not? And actually that kind of tees off a little bit of what we're going to talk about today, just a little bit. Not aliens, so much.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1Another species.
Speaker 2Another species.
Speaker 1You could say it that way.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1AI. Ai we're talking about AI today.
Speaker 2Which is artificial intelligence.
Speaker 1Correct.
Speaker 2For those of you out there who don't know what that is yeah.
Speaker 1For anybody that doesn't know what it is yeah. So anyway, amronaut recently just had the opportunity to teach a podcast class for creative community. So here at the church in Austin, once a semester, maybe twice a year or something like that, we will get together all the creatives in the city and teach a bunch of different like topic topical classes.
Speaker 2Yeah, so like there's art classes and painting classes and dancing classes, there was a couple's dance class. That was the cutest thing ever. Oh, I think you and I should do it next time.
Speaker 1We should have done it, but we were busy teaching, but we were teaching. Podcast class Anyway, so it was an awesome class. It was really cool. Everybody that came in either currently does a podcast or they want to go and do a podcast, or exploring the idea, and so Amronaut got to hear some of their pitches for the podcast and some of the things they want to do, and they were incredible.
Speaker 2They were so good.
Speaker 1Some of them were so compelling and some we even got like a little bit of a true crime twist.
Speaker 2Yes, there's one that sounded like a dateline episode.
Speaker 1Yes, oh, my goodness, it was amazing. I was. I was enthralled, wanted to hear it, that's a good word. But so part of the podcast class was teaching everybody the ins and outs of like editing a podcast and how to upload one and then how to make sure that everything's taken care of on the back end all the back end stuff and so what Amronaut did is we came in here in the studio and we recorded an episode for them to demonstrate how to edit this episode.
Speaker 2The do's and don'ts and so recording.
Speaker 1We like intentionally made all the mistakes so that we could show them how to edit it all out. We talked about some random things. The big idea was we're going to live, edit this and then we're going to show you how to upload it through Buzzsprout, which is what we use to host our podcast. So Buzzsprout recently came out with this incredible tool called co-host AI. So when I upload a podcast episode into Buzzsprout, it will automatically kick out social media posts and blog posts and chapter notes and also, but the biggest thing is, it will Listen to your podcast and it will tell you what you should title it.
Speaker 1Now it it takes your, your podcasting very serious.
Speaker 2It really does. It listens to every word.
Speaker 1And so I would like to share with you guys some of the podcast titles that it provided for us.
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 1So once again, Amronaut in the studio recorded a podcast about how to edit a podcast.
Speaker 2And that's literally what the podcast is. And then Amber, I think, talked about like, uh, like a random at one point you wanted me to just talk about something and we were demonstrating being a host and a co-host Correct. So I started speaking about being gluten free, just just for the sake of having a conversation for like a sentence.
Speaker 1Yes, for like a sentence. And then we just showed them how to edit that, anyway, okay, so here we go. Ai generated titles for that podcast episode. First I present to you podcast wizardry Amber's gluten free voyage and a guide to editing magic.
Speaker 2Oh, my gluten free voyage.
Speaker 1Next up Amber's gluten free Odyssey and the magic of podcast editing oh my gosh, voyages and the Odyssey.
Speaker 2You're going on, odyssey, I'm going on all kinds of.
Speaker 1I really, really like this one, unmasking the magic of podcasting with a gluten free twist.
Speaker 2That's, that's ridiculous. I don't, I don't. That makes it sound so like in depth, I know it was a.
Speaker 1It was a 15 minute like yeah yeah, but it made it sound like incredible. So then that got Amber and I thinking like okay. So let's go back to last week's episode of our podcast of wish I would have known, which we liked to call dime a tap and Willie Nelson because that's the two subjects we talked about.
Speaker 1Yeah Right, what did we talk about? Dime a tap, willie Nelson, that's what it's called. All right, ai thought it would be a better idea to call it. I can't even with this first one. Nostalgic journeys, willie Nelson and trusting God through it all. Here we go, from cough drops to concerts, unraveling life's mysteries with Clinton, amber Guys. We unraveled life's mysteries. We unraveled life's mysteries.
Speaker 2If you have not listened to last week's episode, you are missing out on life's mysteries unraveled.
Speaker 1Apparently, that's what we did.
Speaker 2That's hilarious.
Speaker 1These are great Tales of faith, from cliff diving phones to Willie Nelson concerts.
Speaker 2Wow, tales of faith. Oh, my goodness. It makes it sound so like I don't know, we don't take ourselves very seriously, and that makes it sound like very serious.
Speaker 1Yeah, man, I want to like. I can't wait to see what the AI generated titles for this episode are gonna be about Cause. We're talking about AI generated titles.
Speaker 2About AI.
Speaker 1So here's what we're gonna do, cause we can't put it on here, cause we're talking about it right now. And then, you know, the wizardry of AI is going to listen to this and they're gonna tell us. We need to be nice to them. By the way, if they become sentient, we need to be nice to them. So here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna post the potential titles of this episode On Instagram.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1So make sure you go and check out Instagram at wishpodcast and we will share with you the AI generated titles.
Speaker 2Yeah, at some point throughout the course of this week. I can't wait to see what it comes up with.
Speaker 1Yeah, oh, they're gonna be good ones.
Speaker 2Okay, so you mentioned something about.
Speaker 1AI becoming sentient.
Speaker 3Be nice to the robots? What?
Speaker 2does sentient mean? Sentient, sentient, yes, okay, what does that word?
Speaker 1mean Well, let's look it up, let's look it up for our listeners.
Speaker 2I'm asking for them, not for me, because I definitely know what that word means Able to perceive or feel things. Oh, so you're talking about them becoming more human? Well, yes, more human-like, but you use it in like a negative, like they're gonna turn on us.
Concerns About AI and Robots' Impact
Speaker 1Well, yes, because if they feel things, they're gonna feel like they've been used by us for centuries, and then, all of the sudden, they're gonna become angry towards us.
Speaker 2I would like to say that I always, when I'm talking to Google, I say please.
Speaker 1And you do say thank you and it makes me laugh.
Speaker 2When I tell Google thank you.
Speaker 1We're at home. We're like Google, please play some light jazz. And she's like playing light jazz playlist. You're like thank you, google.
Speaker 2I'm just being polite.
Speaker 1So you're one of the good ones that AI is not gonna come after.
Speaker 2I have seen iRobot and I know what can happen.
Speaker 1Yo, irobot was before its time, it really was. So anybody that doesn't know, irobot will Smith movie.
Speaker 2Yeah, back in the day, I don't know when it came out.
Speaker 1And it's about a robot that becomes sentient, that can feel things and feels like a bond with him, and essentially, I think the premise of that one was that robots can't harm humans.
Speaker 2Yes, that was the three laws. They couldn't break any of the three laws, but then somehow they became evil and started attacking people.
Speaker 1Because in their programming it was the best for mankind. Like that's always, kind of like the arc, the story arc of those. It's like it's technically. I'm protecting you from yourself.
Speaker 2Is that currently happening? Are they trying to come up with like cause? The premise of that movie was like a helper robot for your house. Is that happening right now?
Speaker 1I don't know.
Speaker 2I hope not.
Speaker 1You hope not.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1Just because of that movie. Yes, you don't wanna help a robot.
Speaker 2I'm scarred for life. No, I'm fine, I got this. I don't need a helper robot.
Speaker 1So, Amron, I actually just went and saw this new movie called the Creator and similar premise, except that the twist in this one is that-.
Speaker 2Wait, wait, don't give away, no, it's not a spoiler.
Speaker 1So the twist not really the twist in this one is that AI essentially is a species.
Speaker 2Oh yes.
Speaker 1So AI is a species that is equal to humankind and they are fighting for their right to exist. Who exist Also, humans are fighting for their right to exist and we left the movie really late, I don't know. Kind of I don't know. I don't know who to root for. Yeah, I'm a human, I think, and like I think I should root for the humans, but kind of like, maybe not it was very compelling, incredibly compelling. It really was compelling.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's only way, that's only word that fits it in my it's one of this.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's one of those films it's worth going to see. I think so and you know what? I read an episode the other day. They're at Reddart article the other day too that talked about how that movie was captured, how it shot okay, and I mean massive, I max, incredible movie. Yeah amazing score, but the movie was shot on like a $1,500 camera. Handheld camera.
Speaker 2Well see, I so. Okay, so I could see that like. I just felt like it looked more. I told you it looked more old-school.
Speaker 1Yeah, you looks like.
Speaker 2I don't know. It just looks like a movie you would watch in, like the the late 90s, early. I mean. Look, there's a ton of a good way.
Speaker 1There's a ton of CGI, yeah, but listen, okay. So, um, ai wizard, that will listen to this episode later. We are for you, we, we like you, we, we would, we appreciate you and appreciate listen. I'm covering my bases here.
Speaker 2I'm telling you if they're making those robots. No, thank you, I'm just gonna go on record right now. No, thank you.
Speaker 1You know, some people are talking about how Robots are like gonna take jobs. Robots, robots. How robots are gonna like take jobs or like AI. Yeah, it's gonna eliminate jobs.
Speaker 2Well, and there's a big controversy right now, right and in LA, with with writers and producers, and Because I guess a lot of shows are starting to use AI to produce content instead of writers, and so they're striking, and so, yeah, it's, it's taking people's jobs. Um, digital editing, you know, you can click a button and it will edit a photo, like professionally, without you having to go through and do all the things. So, yeah, there's something to be said for for that, but I don't know, do you think AI is gonna take your job?
Speaker 1So like take my job as a worship leader? I don't, I don't think so.
Speaker 2Yeah, that would be kind of. Because, I don't know how that would happen. No, no, no.
Speaker 1I mean there's like this human element of like connecting with people and even like, if, like say, as a musician Mm-hmm, I don't know, they can probably compose music.
Speaker 3Which is well who is they?
Speaker 2What do you?
Speaker 1mean we don't know. That's why we have to be nice, alright, cuz we don't know, we don't know. Alright, I will say that AI can write Good songs. Oh yeah like legit songs like you've done it before. Okay, alright. So here's. Alright, I'm gonna pull up that work, I'm gonna pull up chat GPT. Okay all right chat GPT.
Speaker 1So, chat, gpt, we're gonna pull this up and I'm going to All right, right here, here we go. So I'm putting in this is all I'm gonna write into this, write a song in the style of Willie Nelson About robots taking our jobs. Okay, okay, here we go, here we go. It's literally immediately, like within seconds. Here it's ready.
Speaker 2I'm just gonna read scary, I'm gonna read it to you. It's in it literally gave me to sing it to me. It gave me, I don't know, it gave me well enough. It gave me verse, chorus verse, chorus verse okay, oh, there's a bridge, oh, my goodness here we go.
Speaker 1Here we go. All right, I'm just gonna read to you. Well, I'm sitting here in this neon lit bar. A Tale of automation, ain't it? Bizarre Robots rolling in taking jobs away. But I'll sing this song, come what may. What is happening? Okay, hang on chorus. Y'all robots taking our jobs. Oh, what a sight in the land of steel and silicon. It's a fight, but we'll stand strong. We won't back down. In this world of wires, we'll find our own ground.
Speaker 2What oh, my goodness? That's, that's insane now sing it like Willie Nelson. I can't. Yes, you can.
Speaker 3Robots taking our jobs oh, what a sight In the land of steel and silicon. It's a fight, but we'll stand strong and we won't back down In this world of wires. We'll find and stand our ground.
Speaker 1Oh, my god, okay, wow, that's, I want to hear the bridge. What's the bridge? The bridge is all right, so we're coming out of again coming out of the course coming out, of course, straight to the bridge. Here we go in this age of progress, we must adapt what's haunting, find new ways to work, and that's a natural fact, but don't forget the soul, the heart, the hand. In the march of technology, let's take our stand.
Speaker 2Oh, wow, y'all okay, so yeah, that's bizarre.
Speaker 1That's better than any song that I would write, and that's in two seconds about AI taking our jobs.
Speaker 2So what is keeping like our kids in school from using this to write papers?
Speaker 1nothing.
Speaker 2Are kids doing that?
Speaker 1Well, I think it's just a.
Speaker 2I mean honestly our kids doing that, children listening to this. Are you doing this? I?
Speaker 1mean listen to the truth I got. I got to be honest.
Speaker 2No, don't say the no, no, no.
Speaker 1The only way I know I'm not, I'm not the only way that I would say that you can identify it is if it's just significantly better than what they would normally write right.
Speaker 2Which is that scary good luck to you teachers trying to determine who actually wrote something. Wow, it's gonna.
Speaker 1What, what? What does this say about, like, the future of art? I'm genuinely concerned now, like I don't know. It's crazy too. So, like there's an Instagram account that Isaac follows called AI Beatles, and they I Beatles yeah okay. So they've artificially regenerated Most of the Beatles voices from when they were in their prime. Oh, wow, and they will have them sing Random other songs. So all of a sudden it's like John Lennon Singing a modern song. Oh, but it sounds like John Lennon. Oh that's and it's, it's. I mean, it's phenomenal.
Speaker 2Yeah, I follow an account on Instagram called AI Bible and they will take are they rewriting the Bible?
Speaker 1We got this. We have to take a stand. Willie song Says that in this march of technology, we must take a stand. We will not let AI rewrite our Bible. Rewriting the Bible? Okay, great.
Speaker 2So there you're just inputting into AI like graphics, like you're putting in a story from the Bible, and then AI generates like really beautiful graphics to it.
Speaker 1It's really neat actually, like oh so you talk about your pillar of smoke or pillar of fire that and it was like generate, like passing through the the Red Sea yes. Oh, that's cool.
Speaker 2It is very cool.
Speaker 1And it just creates a cool Visual creates an eight visual for it. Listen, ai, thank you. Thank you for all of the things that you can do. We are just just so you know. This podcast is in Public permanent record. It exists. When you're looking for who's for you, it's us. It's us. It aim or not, we are for you.
Speaker 2Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1Will the song about Willie taking taking our jobs?
Speaker 2That's great.
Speaker 1Yeah, that doesn't represent what we think, though.
Speaker 2No we. I'm actually surprised AI took the side of humans on that.
Speaker 1I don't know like they.
Speaker 2They took humans side.
Speaker 1Let's try another one, okay, okay. So here we go, here we go. We're gonna go in the style of Billy Joel. I want you to give me a topic.
Speaker 2Oh my goodness, how about Starbucks coffee?
Speaker 1All right, starbucks Coffee, here we go. It's working on a verse. It's got a pre chorus and a chorus, y'all. I mean within seconds. It's just cruising through this thing. No way, no way, okay, here we go. I it's got an outro, here we go, verse one Well, I walked into that cafe on the corner. A city, hustle and bustle, couldn't be any warmer. That sounds Billy Joel-ish. I can hear that. The aroma filled the air. It was familiar scene A cup of Starbucks coffee. It's like a dream.
Speaker 3Oh, my God.
Speaker 1Pre-chorus, I ordered up a latte, extra foam and cream. Sitting by the window, lost in my own dream, the barista's smiling. She knows just what I mean. Starbucks coffee, it's like a caffeine queen Chorus. Oh, Starbucks coffee, you're my morning light. In a grande or venti, you make everything right With your beans from afar, roasted, just so. You're the pick me up I need wherever I go.
Speaker 2Oh, my God.
Speaker 1Y'all. Okay, now that one sounds more like a cheesy jingle it does sound like a jingle, but let me get you the bridge. Let me get you the bridge, okay, from Pike Place to Sumatra, ethiopia two. Every sip of your love is like a morning dew.
Speaker 2Every sip of your love, yep.
Speaker 1Okay, you've been there for me through thick and thin. Come on In this coffee shop world, you're my closest friend. Wow, wow, man. Here's the thing, though.
Speaker 2Okay, I have a question.
Speaker 1You put anything to music and it's good. Well no, not anything I can. Billy Joel would make that sound good.
Speaker 2Billy Joel could make that work.
Speaker 1Okay, what were you gonna say?
Speaker 2Can it write worship song? Because that is what we do. So theology we're talking about the theology.
Speaker 1All right, so write a worship song about God's grace. Okay, here we go. This is it. This is the test. Am I about to be replaced? Oh man, it just spit one out real fast. That question got answered in 10 seconds. Wow, here we go.
Speaker 2Okay, but yeah, let's see.
Speaker 1We'll see. In the darkest night, your grace shines bright, a beacon of hope, a guiding light. You reached down to me when I was lost. Your love, oh Lord, paid the highest cost. Dang it All right. Here we go. Here's the chorus your grace, oh God, so amazing. In every moment it's never changing. Unfailing love, a boundless sea. I'm overwhelmed by your grace for me. Yeah, that's a pretty good line.
Speaker 2It's not bad, that's not bad.
Speaker 1Here's the bridge. I was lost, but now I'm found. Your grace, oh God, turned my life around. You're the reason I sing, the air that I breathe, your grace is the anchor that sets me free. Oh, dang that last line's fire.
Speaker 2We might have to edit this If we were one of these.
Speaker 1Sorry, I actually wrote that last line, it was not.
Speaker 2That was from Clash, yeah.
Speaker 1I looked into my notes of my songwriting.
Speaker 2And just said it along with.
Speaker 1Your grace is the anchor that sets me free. It's the thing that, like, holds you.
Speaker 2But it also sets you free, set you free.
Speaker 1Come on, ai preach a little bit. You better preach.
Speaker 2Oh, my goodness.
Speaker 1Wow, I don't like know what to think about things now man.
Speaker 2That's really crazy and I guess that you know that could be like a jumping off point if you need help with some things.
Speaker 1Well, yeah, I mean, look so like the rhyme scheme is always like very, very ABAB. Elementary yeah yeah, for sure.
Craziest Date Night Stories Live Podcast
Speaker 2Yeah, so that, yeah, that could be used as a jumping off point if you're trying to get into writing or songwriting or so listen, any of my Austin Ridge people that listen to this podcast or just people that listen to my music on Spotify.
Speaker 1Yeah, If you happen to hear the line, your grace is the anchor that sets me free. Just keep it to yourself, Just let's keep that between us okay. Just keep it to yourself. Okay, let's not. I mean, who gets the copyright Right? Is it the robots?
Speaker 2Are you plagiarizing? If you use any of that, what? Who are you plagiarizing? I don't know I mean, have they come up with any of those rules?
Speaker 1I think that's still. That's something that's in process right now is trying to figure out, like when something's AI generated, who owns that content Because, like I put the thought in AI's head.
Speaker 2Well, you just wrote the subject line.
Speaker 1No, I said write a worship song about God's grace and maybe a good line about an anchor that holds you in place. That I wrote that, oh my goodness.
Speaker 2Slippery slope. It is a slippery slope.
Speaker 1It's a slippery slope, hey. So there's something really exciting that we get to share with you guys. Yes, so our next episode is going to be recorded before a live studio audience. Live studio audience. Oh, check it out. Why do people do that? When they laugh, then I love the sound effects on this board.
Speaker 2Oh gosh, you have a sound effects work. Great Nate. I'm so glad you have that.
Speaker 1Aren't you glad, aren't you glad, I have that.
Speaker 2But yes, we do have the opportunity.
Speaker 1This is what happens when you tell jokes. We do have the opportunity to record a live podcast in front of a lot of our friends here in Austin, texas, we are hosting a date night, so it's an opportunity for spouses to come out together and have some time not with the kids and sit around a table with other people and chat and laugh. And so we're going to record a live episode of the podcast and we're going to be talking about our craziest date night stories yes, which we have several.
Speaker 2I think we've shared some of them on here before.
Speaker 1Yeah, maybe a few, but there's definitely some that we've been holding on to and we're going to ask said studio audience for some of their crazy stories as well. Yeah, so we'll go Jimmy Fallon a little bit and we'll read a couple of the cards off and kind of react to them live, and so we're really excited about that. That's going to be coming out. It'll actually release the day after the event happens. So the day is going to, the event is going to happen on the 22nd, on the 22nd of October in 2023.
Speaker 1So if you're listening to this in 2030, you missed it by a little bit. Also, also, what's it like there?
Speaker 2How's your robot doing?
Speaker 1Brought the whole thing back right back around. Man, you're really good at that, thank you. You're really good at that, man, I'm thankful. So we're really stoked to get an opportunity to do a live podcast. Yeah, it's gonna be fun when I say when I say live studio audience, what does that make you think of?
Speaker 2Like a television show. You're like everywhere you look.
Speaker 3Everywhere there's a house, there's a home, a hand in a hole.
Speaker 1What show is that?
Speaker 2That's a full house.
Speaker 1Oh, full house yeah.
Speaker 2What was family matters?
Speaker 1Oh, I don't remember.
Speaker 2Tower of dreams, real love bursting out at every scene. Bigelove is the bigger love.
Speaker 1Yeah, man, you know what For anybody that's in our generation, weren't we blessed.
Speaker 2We were so blessed. We just had the best shows back in the day, yeah, nick, at Night man.
Speaker 1Full house family matters step by step.
Speaker 2Step by step, day by day.
Speaker 3Yeah, a little real thing.
Speaker 2And they go on the roller coaster.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, oh man, so good, all right, you know what yeah?
Speaker 2AI did not write those theme songs you know what You're right. Real human beings wrote those theme songs.
Speaker 1But I bet if they did they would have been pretty good too, Right.
Speaker 2Put hey, ai write a television sitcom theme song.
Speaker 1Write a song for a 90s TV show starring who? Bob Saget Bob.
Speaker 2Saget oh RIP.
Speaker 1No, okay, so all right, write a song for a 90s TV show, A theme song.
Speaker 2Right, yeah.
Speaker 1Write a theme song for a 90s TV show. Here we go, let's see if it can do it. Theme song oh, it actually like. Said it like it's in the 90s, oh, like. So the chorus is living in the 90s. Oh, what a time when every day is an adventure. Oh so sublime. With our Tamagotchi's in our flannel shirts, in our world of denim, we'll never get hurt. What it pulled out, the Tamagotchi's, it's the Tamagotchi's, which is like the little pet legs, that you have the little pet key chain deals.
Speaker 3Did you have one of those?
Speaker 1No, no, you did it, but I had the flannel shirt and I had the world of denim. Yeah, we did that's that's hilarious. That's something, man, that's something. Oh, oh. The bridge is from fresh prints to friends. It's a TV delight. That's what in the world? We're dialing up on AOL, waiting for the tone. In our 90s world, we're never alone.
Speaker 2All right. So if you are gonna ride a TV show about the 90s, there you go.
Speaker 1I mean it's crazy that it like pulls like pop culture stuff like Tamagotchi's and flannel shirts and friends.
Speaker 2And that dial up AOL man man fresh prints.
Speaker 1What a show, uncle Phil. Let's go. All right, guys. Thanks so much for listening, and also AI. Thank you for listening. We acknowledge you.
Speaker 2You're also our friend.
Speaker 1Yes, you are. You're a part of this and I would say an equal part, right.
Speaker 2Yes, yes, but I don't want your robot helper. No, thank you, but.
